Are your employees safe from their copier?

Los Angeles, make sure your employees are safe

Have you hear the term “VOC”? If you have not then you probably don’t know that copiers often produce VOCs. VOC is an acronym for volatile organic compounds and copiers mostly produce the VOC ozone. Ozone isn’t all bad, you’ve probably heard that it’s important to have in the atmosphere, it’s not good to have in your lungs though. Listed below are some of the effects of ozone as according to Web MD.

  • Lung irritation and inflammation
  • Coughing, wheezing, pain when a deep breath is taken
  • Permanent lung damage with repeated exposure
  • Worsened asthma, higher chances of pneumonia, and decreased lung capacity

So do you have a VOC producer on your hands? You need to ask “How much does the corona wire for this machine run?” If you find that the corona wire is an included cost then your copier is a VOC producer and it would be wise to take the proper precautions.
